My Story

Hi, I’m Kristin

And most people know me as:

An Educator
I teach undergraduate and graduate students at Concordia University Texas as an Assistant
Professor. I also chair the university’s Business Advisory Board and lead the university’s
entrepreneurship program.

A Life-long Learner
After earning my Bachelor of Arts at Duke University and Master of Business Administration at
the University of Texas at Austin, I went “back to school” at the University of Texas at Austin
during the pandemic to earn my Doctorate in Education. My research focused on best practices
for increasing women student participation in business plan competitions.

An Entrepreneur
Prior to transitioning to higher education, I enjoyed a career in international banking and real
estate.  After becoming a Vice President and Credit Officer at Citigroup, New York, I built my
real estate development company from a startup into a multi-million-dollar business. 
Now, I blend my financial expertise and project management skills for emerging businesses,
leveraging my banking and entrepreneurship background. 

An Investor
An active real estate and startup investor, I am a former board member of the Central Texas
Angel Network (CTAN).

A Startup Judge
Always on the lookout for aspiring entrepreneurs, I regularly judge startup and pitch contests
including SXSW Pitch, Rice Business Plan Competition, University of Texas, Mass Challenge,
and Vandegrift High School INCubatoredu.

A Speaker and Advocate for Women
With a keen interest in educational and humanitarian causes, I speak about topics that enable
entrepreneurs to achieve success with special focus on women and minority entrepreneurs.
I am the Austin, Texas Ambassador for the Women’s Entrepreneurship Day Organization, and
an active advocate for women entrepreneurs locally and globally.
